Today I was guest speaker at a local branch of Samaritans to talk about my story and how best volunteers can support callers with a diagnosis of Personality Disorder.
On World Suicide Prevention Day I was invited to speak at a nationally attended conference on the topic of ‘Surviving Trauma in Personality Disorder’. It was very well attended and my talk was equally well received.
I spoke at an event centred on crisis support and intervention within my county. I gave an honest account of my past experiences which may not have pleased everybody!

The talk I gave at the 2018 West London Mental Health Trust nursing conference last Friday on my article ‘Life in a Therapeutic Community’ was featured on the Trust website today as “the most powerful moment” of the whole conference.
I was approached by the charity Suicide Crisis and asked to write an article on life in a therapeutic community setting for treatment of Personality Disorders. They featured this article in their monthly newsletter today. Read my opinions on the treatment in the Articles section of the website.
